About Geometry Dash SubZero

Released in February 2018 by Swedish developer RobTop Games, Geometry Dash SubZero is a free standalone spin-off of the original Geometry Dash. Originally created as a preview and marketing teaser for the upcoming 2.2 update of the main game, SubZero stands on its own with three brand-new levels, original soundtracks, and a distinct frosty neon aesthetic that sets it apart from siblings like Geometry Dash Meltdown and Geometry Dash World.

The premise is simple: tap to jump, time it to the beat, survive. But behind that simplicity sits a brutally precise platformer that punishes the slightest mistake — one wrong move and you're back at the start.

How to Play Geometry Dash SubZero

Game Controls

DeviceAction
DesktopSpacebar / Up Arrow / Left Mouse Click
MobileTap the screen
TabletTap the screen

Getting Started

  1. 1.Pick a level — start with Press Start if you're new
  2. 2.Listen to the beat — every obstacle is timed to the music
  3. 3.Tap to jump — over spikes, under barriers, through portals
  4. 4.Hit something? You restart from zero. No checkpoints in normal mode.
  5. 5.Collect orbs along the way to unlock new cube skins

Practice Mode

Switch to Practice Mode to place checkpoints anywhere on the level — when you fail, you respawn at the last checkpoint instead of restarting from zero. It's the fastest way to learn tricky patterns without grinding the same opening section a hundred times.

The 3 Exclusive Levels

Geometry Dash SubZero has three levels, each with its own soundtrack and difficulty curve.

Press Start

Easy ⭐

The introduction. Forgiving rhythm and predictable obstacles — most players clear this within 5–10 attempts. Recommended for beginners.

Nock Em

Medium ⭐⭐

Ramps up the speed and introduces tighter jump windows, ship-mode sections, and gravity-flip portals. Expect 20–50 attempts.

Power Trip

Hard ⭐⭐⭐

Lightning-fast transitions, dual-mode sections, and obstacle patterns that demand near-perfect memorization. Even veterans need dozens of runs.

Tips & Strategies to Beat Every Level

  • Use Practice Mode first. Learn the level's shape before going for a full run.
  • Follow the beat, not your eyes. Every jump aligns with the music — feel the timing.
  • Memorize portal positions. Ship, cube, and gravity-flip portals appear at fixed points. Know what's coming.
  • Don't tap-mash. Holding the jump button causes accidental double jumps. One tap = one jump.
  • Take breaks. After 20 failed attempts your timing degrades. 5 minutes away and you'll come back sharper.
  • Aim for consistency. A clean 80% run beats a chaotic 95% run that ends in a panic-jump.
